A I D S : Few Recent Facts To Know About & PREVENTION !!

AIDS, HIV, HIV virus, virus, body fluids, prevention, transmission, education, risk reduction, worlwide problem,

AIDS, "Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome" is a combination of many complex symptoms and infections in humans. AIDS is resulting from the multiple damages caused by HIV, the human immuno-deficiency virus attacking the immune system. AIDS put the persons contaminated more easily at risks to the infections and to cancerigene tumors. There is no known cure, but some treatments for AIDS and HIV exist and help to control better the progression of the virus and its damages.

Transmission of AIDS by HIV virus

HIV virus is transmitted directly with body fluids containing HIV, by exemple: blood, semen, vaginal fluid, preseminal fluid, and breast milk. This transmission can come in the form of anal, vaginal or oral sex, blood transfusion, contaminated hypodermic needles, exchange between mother and baby during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding, or other exposure to one of the above body fluids.

Recent Facts & Statistics about AIDS and HIV

The scientific community believes now that: HIV virus originated from sub-Saharian Africa. Statistics are giving estimations that 38.6 million people are living now with the disease worldwide.

Surprising fact: many persons diagnosed with AIDS (+-70%) are also suffering of Fibromyalgia Syndrome !!

In January 2006, "UNAIDS", the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS and the World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that AIDS has killed more than 25 million people. These facts are making AIDS one of the most destructive epidemy in the recorded history and for sure children are among the most contaminated or dying, because they live without the real care they need.

Prevention to fight AIDS and HIV

Because the therapy by medications is very expensive, difficult to get and often available only in rich countries, we can think and also suggest that PREVENTION by the means of EDUCATION and RISK REDUCTION among the populations at high risks can be the best way to fight AIDS and HIV for the immediate future, even in poor countries.
