Sugar substitutes

What are some natural substitutes than putting refined sugars in desserts. You can use honey, molasses, and minced dried fruits for sweetening.

Apple sauces for moisture

Besides adding too much butter or margarine or even the best vegetable oil, you can add apple sauce to give moisture to cakes and cookies.

Dessert Pizza

Use your favorite pizza recipe, but to make the dessert pizza healthier, use whole wheat flour for the crust and add sesame seeds. Include your favorite dessert fruits on top, strawberries, bananas, pineapple, etc.

Cream bananas with your favorite fruit and a tablespoon lemon juice and top with whipped cream.

Oatmeal Crisps

Two cups oatmeal, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. Mix and spoon onto baking sheet. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Cook at preheated 325 degrees. Cook until crisp. Serve with sliced peaches.
